Car Insurance with a permit - markchase - 01.06.2019 6:57 I will be turning 21 in a few days and I have just received my learners permit in the state of GA. I took a few hours at a driving school but its really expensive and I don't feel like I have enough practice to take the road test. Your friend should call their insurance company and make sure that you will be covered while driving with them in their car in the event of an accident. Most insurance companies will not issue insurance in your name unless you have a valid driver's license.
